Welcome to Starter For 10. We ask professional wrestlers 10 questions so that you can find out a bit more about your favourite real life superheroes.
On this edition, Steven ‘Air’ Myles answers our questions.

What drew you into professional wrestling?
I started watching wrestling when I was about 12 years old, I remember going to a friends house and they put on a couple repeats of Raw and Smackdown. Edge won the WWE Championship from RVD in a triple threat with John Cena, and Batista had just came back from injury. After that we played Smackdown vs Raw 2006 and I think from then I was hooked.
Who were your favourite wrestlers growing up and who are your favourites now?
I was (and still am) a big fan of Batista as he was one of the first guys I had seen, plus I loved his entrance music! The more I watched I became a fan of Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. I think my favourite tag team at that point was Paul London and Brian Kendrick. My friend then introduced me to TNA and I instantly became a fan of AJ Styles. I’d say my top three wrestlers today are: AJ Styles, Ricochet and Adam Cole.
What made you decide to start training to be a wrestler and where did you start?
I always wanted to give it a shot but didn’t really know where to look. Then I saw a poster at the Dewars Centre in Perth with Ted DiBiase on it, which was for SWE’s Hell for Lycra 9. I checked out their website and seen that they did training.
Who are your biggest influences in professional wrestling, as a fan and as a wrestler?
I think my biggest influence would be AJ Styles. I just loved his style of wrestling and watching his matches, I even started using the Styles Clash as my finisher.
Who has been your favourite opponent(s) and do you have a favourite match?
I’ve enjoyed working with Ian Ambrose, Alex Webb & Divinity. I’ve also been fortunate enough to have matches with Ricochet and Davey Boy Smith Jr. But I think my favourite match and opponent would be Zack Sabre Jr. I learned a lot from him which I believe has made me a better wrestler.
What has been your career highlight(s) so far?
I’d say my career highlight is wrestling at the Caird Hall in Dundee. It’s the biggest venue that I’ve done and there’s a lot of History with the venue and British wrestling. My Grandad was a big fan of World of Sport back when it was at it’s peak and attended shows at the Caird Hall as well. So getting to perform there in front of him and my family was nice moment for me.
Who would be your dream opponent, past or present?
If I was to pick someone from the past, I would pick Eddie Guerrero or Jushin Liger. I think both guys are fantastic wrestlers who have an incredible style. For the present, I would have to say Will Ospreay. We’re both of a similar age and I really enjoy the high flying aspect of wrestling so I think it would be a very fun match to do.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years time, I would like to have had a try out for WWE. I’d also like to have at least wrestled abroad, preferably Japan.
Where can we find you on social media?
You can find me on Facebook as Air Myles – Pro Wrestler, I’m also on Twitter @Air_Myles17 and Instagram @AirMyles_17.
Why do you do what you do?
I love it – I get to meet some amazing people and have the potential to travel the world doing something I’m passionate about. It’s quite rare that happens but I’m glad I decided to be a wrestler.
Thank you to Steven for answering our questions.
