After the success of “Coming of Age”, Fierce Females launched “Return of the Queen of Hardcore”. This event hosted a great card and demonstrated fantastic matches with various & different ring styles involved and it was this that had every fan that left at the end of the night raving about the matches they just witnessed.
The opening match was the first Semi Final Championship Match and the fans saw the return of Nikki Storm who would face the dangerous Bete Noire.
Before the match began, Storm showed she had lost none of her trademark confidence since she left as she cut a promo on her expectation on becoming the next Fierce Females Champion and this had the crowd cheering.
Semi-Final Championship Tournament Match: Nikki Storm vs Bete Noire
As the match began the two exchanged armlock and armbars, despite the technicality of the wrestling, it became clear that Noire was the aggressor and this continued throughout the match. Noire made sure that Storm wasn’t getting a chance to get into any rhythm or maintain any momentum by cutting her off with brutal forarms and kicks. As Storm endeavoured to prove she was still one of the best in the industry, Noire was quick to punish her for it. But the finale arrived when Noire had Storm beaten in the corner and was ready to strike with her running big boot until she quickly dodged and connected with the turnbuckle. This allowed Storm to seize her and connect with the Eye of the Storm to get the pin. As Noire left the ring and the two locked eyes it was clear that this match may have reignited a feud to be extinguished sometime in the future.
Next was the Second of the Semi finals that saw the popular Courtney take on villainous Debbie Sharpe.
Semi-Final Championship Tournament: Courtney vs Debbie Sharpe
As Courtney was quick to get the match started, Sharpe appeared to be more concerned with how she looked during the opening sequence. But as the match continued Sharpe seemed to be continually outsmarted by her opponent, this eventually caused her to lose her temper and focus her aggression on Courtney’s back and throat by constant chokes and repeated Boston crabs. Despite this, Courtney fought back with fast clotheslines and got the fans cheering when she got a near fall after a high cross body splash from the top turnbuckle. Sharpe remained focused on her opponent by striking with a powerbomb and the strategy that Sharpe used throughout the match proved to be a success as she inflicted a final Boston crab on Courtney to make her tap and get a hard fought win against the courageous contender.
Fiona Fraser vs Viper
Next it was the wrestling technician Fiona Fraser facing the powerhouse Viper. This match showed two contrasting styles of wrestlers putting on a brilliant match, as Fraser focused on injuring Viper’s left arm, with arm-locks, armbars and stretching her arm using the ropes. While Viper rallied with devastating brutal slams and a powerful drop slam. As Frazer clinically punished Viper, it was clear this was having the desired effect as Viper was nursing her arm after every offence against her opponent but as Frazer had Viper locked in an armbar she kept hyper extending the left arm and the crowd could feel a tap out result on the cards until Viper took her chance. In a power display lifting her up with one arm and connecting with a furious powerbomb to get the pin.
However, as Viper was shielding her arm, Glamour Gym(Carmel Jacob & Sara) enraged from Viper’s comments at the “Coming of Age” event, gatecrashed the victory by attacking her then allowed Fraser to inflict more damage on the left arm, as Viper lay cradling her injured arm, the Trio left hoping that this was a lasting message to everyone that they are the dominant force in Fierce Females.
No.1 Contender Championship Final: Nikki Storm vs Debbie Sharpe
This match started a quick pace instigated by Sharpe, who concentrated her attack on the back of Storm. As the match wore on, both women proved why they made it to the final as they demonstrated great wrestling and the passion that you’d need to be the No.1 contender. The crowd was solidly behind Storm during the match as she connected with a superplex off the top turnbuckle and her continuous attempts to execute the Eye of the Storm may have been thwarted by a determined Sharpe, they had been expecting a clear victory. Sharpe continued to fight back by striking with her Downward Spiral finisher and then the Boston Crab that she gained the victory in the semi final, but as Storm refused to tap out, Sharp’s focus was lost and her frustration took over allowing the veteran to hit the Eye of the Storm to get the victory.
The next match was the tag team bout seeing the calculating Glamour Gym, Sara & Carmel Jacob, against the dynamic Leah Owens with the injured Kasey Owens and a mystery partner. As the crowd waited in wonder as who would join Leah Owens in the fray, the music hit, it was a furious and determined Viper out to gain a measure of revenge on what transpired earlier.
Glamour Gym (Carmel Jacob & Sara) vs Leah Owens & Viper (w/Kasey Owens)
Leah Owens started off with Sara and it was clear that she wasn’t going to hold back as she gained the upper hand by stunning both Jacobs and Sara with her wrestling arsenal. But the devious Jacobs made sure that this wasn’t going to continue by gaining control with fast tags and cutting the ring in half. Owens managed to fight back to get Viper tagged in and the momentum had changed again in this fast-paced tag match. Usually Glamour Gym might not have an answer to a furious Viper but they began to target her already injured arm then the battle tumbled to the outside where they brutalised the arm using the guardrail systematically eliminating her from the match. From there, Glamour Gym ran riot, exploiting the two on one advantage. The ending saw Owens fall victim to a Drapping DDT and then pinned but this wasn’t the end as Jacob’s continued to attack Owens.
Desperate to help her sister, Kasey slid into the ring to help, but Jacob & Sara showed no mercy as they punished her by taking her crutch and beating both twins with it. As the three fan favourites lay injured, there fight wasn’t gone, as the Owen Twins then challenged Glamour Gym to a Last Woman Standing Elimination Match at “Mad Maxine”, which there opponents accepted.
After the previous great match, it was the main event, Champion Kay Lee Ray would face Sammii Jayne in what would be one of the best Women’s matches this writer has seen, ever.
Fierce Females Championship: Sammii Jayne vs Kay Lee Ray (c)
The two women demonstrated there abilities with wrestling manoeuvres that was appreciated by the crowd and even had there loyalty split between both women. Traditional wrestling took a side step as it appeared both women decided it was time to bring ICW attitude into the match as they spilled to the outside and Ray had Jayne arched on a chair then pummelled her with a dropkick. The two battled within the crowd then outside the building where Ray Irish-whipped Jayne into a parked car and then Double axe-handled her from it.
From there the action never stopped as the two battled back into the building and the two exchanged control of the match prompting the crowd to chant at various points “this is awesome!” after Lee hit a superplex and Jayne connected with a brilliant back suplex just as Lee spring-boarded off the ropes. The Champion and No.1 contender countered their submissions, from Lee’s Code Red to Jayne’s Leg-scissors causing near submissions. However, Lee managed to get a second wind after the long battle, she executed her Gory Bomb to hit her Swanton of the Ropes to get the win and retain her title in a brilliant match.
Before she could enjoy her hard fought victory, Nikki Storm arrived, as the Champion and new No.1 Contender stared each other down, they had to be separated as the countdown to “Mad Maxine” in now officially on.
