It’s almost that time of the year again, as WrestleZone present Aberdeen Anarchy 2016 on June 4th. The Granite City is in store for a huge night of action in just under 2 months time. So let’s take a look at previous Aberdeen Anarchy events (excluding the events not in the Beach Ballroom).
2013 saw WrestleZone present their 5 year anniversary supershow titled Aberdeen Anarchy. The show, which took place on June 1st, sold out the Beach Ballroom with 1, 103 people inside the historic venue. Former WWE stars “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn were both in attendance, as well as British wrestling legend Len Ironside and Evening Express journalist Ross McTavish. The show saw Crusher Craib win his first Undisputed WrestleZone championship from Johnny Lions, which he went on to hold for just under a year. The show also featured several names not usually on WrestleZone cards, such as Bingo Ballance, Stevie Xavier (now Stevie Boy), Kay Lee Ray and current ICW Women’s Champion Carmel Jacob. One of WrestleZone’s best shows to date in terms of match quality.
The 2014 Aberdeen Anarchy show was on Saturday May 10th and featured Scotty 2 Hotty and X-Pac as that years former WWE stars. Len Ironside, who was the ringside enforcer in the previous year’s main event, made his in ring return against one of Scotland’s very best Aspen Faith. WrestleZone once again sold out the Beach Ballroom with yet another historic night that will go down in WrestleZone history.
So then we came to the 2015 show on Saturday May 23rd, my first Aberdeen Anarchy. Hardcore Holly, Chris Masters and D-Von Dudley were brought in for the night, with D-Von sending Chris Archer through a table. This event will stay in my head for a long time due to the reformation of Sterling Oil, one of my favourite factions in Scottish wrestling. Hometown hero Scotty Swift also cemented his legacy by winning his very first Undisputed WrestleZone title, which he holds to this day. Arguably the greatest Aberdeen Anarchy in my opinion.
This years supershow will take place on Saturday June 4th. We can confirm that Crusher Craib will enter the main event as the winner of the 2016 Regal Rumble against the Undisputed champion, which at the time is Scotty Swift. Scottish sensation Grado and former WWE stars Carlito, Tatanka, The Hurricane and Bull Dempsey will also be in attendance at the Beach Ballroom. WrestleZone have all they need to put on a great show.
Overall, Aberdeen Anarchy ia essentially WrestleZone’s very own Wrestlemania with special guests, meet and greets and media appearances. General admission tickets are still available and you don’t want to miss out on this one.
