On Saturday, Scottish School of Wrestling have ‘Pretty Much The’ Regal Rumble (pretty much as it’s not actually taking place at The Regal Theatre in Bathgate) at The Royal Legion in Bathgate (so could it be The Royal Rumble?). So here are my five picks to win it all and go on to challenge SSW Worlds Champion Mikey Ratings.

1. Dave Jeremi

Big Dave Jeremi looks to have his eyes firmly set on the figurehead of Absolution, the SSW Worlds Champion Mikey Ratings. The former SPWO UK Champion fell short at Meltdown but with the formation of Absolution with his family Noah and Pete Jeremi siding with Ratings, Dave will be a favourite to throw out anyone in his path for another showdown over the SSW Worlds Championship and take control of his company back.

2. Kaiden King

The former SSW Worlds Champion has been a thorn in the side of Ratings all year and since losing the title, he has been working his way back up the rankings to get his chance again to overcome and regain the SSW Worlds Championship. Ever the underdog, King will need to gather a lot of strength to fight his way through everyone and get another chance at Ratings.

3. Mike Musso

The Merchandise, Mike Musso spent the earlier part of the year chasing the SSW Worlds Championship but was thwarted at every turn by Ratings. A heavily experienced wrestler, it won’t be Musso’s first rumble and it’s certain he has a few Rumble wins in the past.

4. Benedict Thatcher

The current SPWO UK Champion has had a breakout year with winning the King of the Bing, the Ten Man Title match and the SPWO UK Championship in the space of a few months. Thatcher is hot property in SSW and another feather in his loaded cap would be a Rumble win and a chance at the SSW Worlds Championship. He has a tough fight with Jody Fleisch earlier in the evening to defend that SPWO UK Championship so will have to hope for a late number if he has any hopes to win.

5. Ravie Davie

An outsider perhaps but the current SSW 24/7 Hardcore Champion, Ravie Davie is unorthodox and will be ducking and diving to stay in the match. If he doesn’t win I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the final three with a strong showing and that’s what’s happenin’ troops!

So there we have it, five picks to win ‘Pretty Much The’ Regal Rumble on Saturday. With names set to appear like Jody Fleisch, Jonny Storm, Jason Reed and those Jeremies Noah and Pete, who do you think will win?
