For the last time this year, Discovery Wrestling are back as they return to the Edinburgh Corn Exchange this coming Thursday with one of their best cards to date. Set to appear are Lucha Underground’s Matt Cross, ROH star Flip Gordon, the man with all the nicknames David Starr and Bullet Club members Cody, Marty Scurll and The Young Bucks. This show is set to be too sweet!

Y Division Championship
Matt Cross vs Joe Coffey (c)

The main event of this show will see an old rivalry reignited as Joe Coffey puts the Y Division Championship on the line against Lucha Underground star Matt Cross. These two have had some fantastic matches with each other over in ICW, with The Iron Man being 2-1. Since winning the gold from Lewis Girvan at Year Three in September, Coffey has defended in a fantastic match against Matt Riddle at last month’s Uncivil War. His next challenger is a man people may recognise from Lucha Underground where he wrestles under a mask as The Son of Havoc, where he is a two-time Trios Champion. Will the title reign continue for Joe or will Matt Cross add the Y Division Championship to his ever-growing collection?

Discovery Women’s Championship
Kay Lee Ray vs Sammii Jayne (c)

The Women’s Championship is also on the line as inaugural champion Sammii Jayne puts the gold up for grabs against the returning Kay Lee Ray. The Queen of Catch has worked her way through some of the best in her Discovery career, including Viper, Nikki Storm and Toni Storm. After becoming the first ever champion by winning a Fatal Four Way Match last month in a tournament final, Sammii went on to take part in a WWE tryout which just showed how good she really is. Meanwhile, Kay Lee Ray was eliminated in the first round of the recent WWE Mae Young Classic, losing out to Princesa Sugehit. With both women being at their prime, this is a high calibre match not to be missed.

BT Gunn vs Cody Rhodes

The first guest set to appear at The Corn Exchange is former WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion and current ROH World Champion, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, who’s set to square off with BT Gunn on Thursday. Since leaving WWE, Cody has found major success around the world with appearances for the likes of TNA, WCPW (now Defiant Wrestling) and of course ROH. After being revealed as the newest Bullet Club member at the end of last year, the former Dashing One has proven that you don’t need WWE to be successful, although that likely has something to do with it also. Speaking about successful, you don’t get more successful in Scottish wrestling right now than BT Gunn. The current and first ever Undisputed ICW Champion has had a fantastic 2017, and a win over a man with the calibre of Cody Rhodes would be the icing on the cake for The Oddity.

David Starr vs Joe Hendry

Another of Thursday’s guests, and yes I’m putting them all in, is “The Cream in Your Coffee, Your Favourite Wrestler’s Favourite Wrestler, The Jewish Cannon, The Physical Embodiment of Charisma, The Most Entertaining Man in Professional Wrestling, The Bernie Sanders of Professional Wrestling, Mr Americanrana, Davey Wrestling, The 104 Minute Man, The Main Event, He’s Really Good at Twitter, The King of Taunts, The Product” David Starr. When he makes his Discovery Wrestling debut, he’ll be against “The Prestigious One” Joe Hendry, a man who has been making waves over the past year in both professional and amateur wrestling. With the charisma possessed by both of these men, I would imagine a very loud and hard-hitting match in Edinburgh.

Marty Scurll vs Flip Gordon

“The Villain” Marty Scurll makes his return to Discovery Wrestling this Thursday as he goes up against ROH sensation Flip Gordon. Scurll has had a phenomenal debut with gold being won all around the world, from the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to the Defiant World Championship. Since joining Bullet Club in 2016, Marty has developed into one of the most cold and calculated villains (no pun intended) in the world today. Meanwhile, Flip Gordon has impressed many with his fantastic showings for the likes of ROH, where he was a finalist in this year’s Survival of the Fittest, and also in Beyond Wrestling. Discovery Wrestling always know how to put on fantastic and this is yet another fine example.

Fatal Four Way Elimination Match
Buffet Club (Rob Cage & Gene Munny) vs The Kings of Catch (Aspen Faith & Lewis Girvan) vs The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs Polo Promotions (Jackie Polo & Mark Coffey)

As Michael Cole would say, oh my! A huge four team elimination match has been signed for Thursday’s show as Buffet Club, The Kings of Catch, The Young Bucks and Polo Promotions collide. After winning the Uncivil War to be crowned the 2017 Discovery Tag Team Champions, Buffet Club will be riding a wave of momentum heading in to this match. Speaking about tournament wins, The Kings of Catch’s Aspen Faith won the second tournament on that show as he defeated Rampage Brown in the finals of the Hotter Than Hell Edinburgh Invitational to earn a shot at the Y Division Championship, once held by his partner Lewis Girvan, whenever he wants. The final two teams in the match are Scotland’s best tag team Polo Promotions and quite possibly the world’s best tag team The Young Bucks. Aspen has been part of two Superkick Parties so far without taking a single kick to the jaw. Can he make it 3-0 on Thursday?

Lumberjack Match
Christopher Saynt vs Michael Chase

A Discovery first takes place on Thursday as the rivalry between Christopher Saynt and Michael Chase will hopefully come to an end in a Lumberjack Match. With the two going back and forth for the past year or so, they were scheduled to face off at Uncivil War with The House of Saynt forced to disband if Chase was victorious. However, Chase was attacked before the show and wasn’t cleared to compete, being replaced by former HoS member Lou King Sharp who ultimately lost. Discovery management have now decided that the two need to settle their differences and have placed them in a Lumberjack Match. Although none of the lumberjacks have been revealed, we do know that they will all be entrants in January’s Disco Derby.

Kenny Williams vs Liam Slater

Two faces making their return to Discovery Wrestling takes place on Thursday as Kenny Williams faces off with Liam Slater. The Bollocks made his debut for Discovery back in March 2016, losing Disco’s traditional Four Way Elimination Match to Lucha DS, while Liam Slater debuted in April of this year as he lost to Joe Hendry. Williams has had an exceptional year so far, with a recent victory over Rey Mysterio proving that. Slater meanwhile has had a great year in his own right, winning NGW’s Destiny Rumble and having great matches against names such as Cody Rhodes and former tag partner Johnny Moss. This should be a fantastic match between of the UK’s best.

Tickets are no longer available from shop.discoverywrestling.com, and can only be bought at the door, priced at £20. Doors for those with meet and greet tickets for Bullet Club open at 5pm, while doors for everyone else open at 6pm. Discovery management have also teased a very special raffle for this show, and I believe one of those prizes is the right to be David Starr’s personal ring announcer!
