Welcome to Starter For 10. We ask professional wrestlers 10 questions so that you can find out a bit more about your favourite real life superheroes.

On this edition, we pose our 10 questions to one half of The Purge, ‘The Outlaw’ Stevie James.

What drew you into professional wrestling?

I must have been about 5 when I started watching professional wrestling, I remember seeing Hulk Hogan and WWE and being mesmerised. I loved it. Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Ultimate Warrior, Roddy Piper. These larger than life characters going mental and throwing each other about the place, it was brilliant.

As a kid all I wanted to do was watch wrestling.

Who were your favourite wrestlers growing up and who are your favourites now?

Growing up it was Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels and as I hit my teens my absolute favourite of all time became Stone Cold Steve Austin what was not to like, a beer drinking, ass kicking S.O.B who just loved to open a can of whoop ass on everyone.

My favourite tag teams I had growing up, there was a few, so many amazing teams Hart Foundation, The Rockers, The Outsiders, Hardy Boys, The New Age Outlaws just to name a few.

Today I would have to say, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Seth Rollins, love watching any of those guy’s matches. Tag teams today I would say Briscoes,War Machine, The Usos and The Bar.

What made you decide to start training to be a wrestler and where did you start?

Ever since I remember seeing wrestling I knew that is what i wanted to do with my life. I remember being a kid and watching WrestleMania 10 and just being blown away by matches like Bret v Owen and the ladder match between Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels. I remember watching that show and thinking I need to do this. I had no idea how to go about it. In 2012 I saw my first ICW (Website | Facebook) show and I was amazed with what I had just seen and knew I needed to do this, shortly after that I found out that GPWA (WebsiteFacebook) had opened up, I knew I had to join, if I I didn’t I would never have forgiven myself. It was the best decision I have ever made.

Who are your biggest influences in professional wrestling, as a fan and as a wrestler?

As a fan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart.

As a wrestler, I would honestly have to say every one of my coaches at The Asylum as without their knowledge and training I wouldn’t be where I am.

Who has been your favourite opponent(s) and do you have a favourite match?

The N.A.K [Chris Renfrew & BT Gunn], when we faced them at The Asylum for the Pro Wrestling Elite Tag Team Championships.

Which you can watch on YouTube below:

What has been your career highlight(s) so far?

Fighting for the Insane Championship Wrestling Tag Team Championships against Rampage and Ashton with The Wee Man at ICW 7th Annual Square Go from the O2 ABC in Glasgow which you can watch now at ICW On Demand.

Who would be your dream opponent, past or present?

Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels.

Tag team I would say The Outsiders, The New Age Outlaws, The Hardy Boys, The Briscoes.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Still booting baws and breaking jaws. The journey has just begun and myself and Krobar are just getting started. We are headed to the top and have gold on our minds and we aim to run down any one who gets in our way. We are not here just to be good at this , we are here to be the best. Not just in Scotland, UK, Europe but the best in the world .
