Welcome to Starter For 10. We ask professional wrestlers 10 questions so that you can find out a bit more about your favourite real life superheroes.
On this edition, we followed the North Star and posed our 10 questions to, ‘Vintage’ Nathan North.
What drew you into professional wrestling?
I can’t remember a time I didn’t watch it if I’m honest. My big brothers were big fans and I pretty much instantly became their wrestling dummy.
Who were your favourite wrestlers growing up and who are your favourites now?
All time Favourite: Shawn Michaels.
Favourite right now: that’s a hard one because there’s so many fantastic names right now. I’ll say AJ Styles right now.
What made you decide to start training to be a wrestler and where did you start?
It was always my dream to do this, so when I found Wrestlezone Scotland’s Training academy and how close it was time, I thought it was too good to pass up, so I jumped on the opportunity, and I’ve never looked back since.
Wrestlezone Scotland is where I started, I’ve been training there for about 2 and a half years and have been working on shows for the past 18 months. Even though I’m on shows now I’ve never stopped with my training and now travel to Glasgow to train at the Source Wrestling School also.
Who are your biggest influences in professional wrestling, as a fan and as a wrestler?
My biggest influences as a fan were people like Shawn Michaels, Bret and Owen Hart, those guys were never the biggest or strongest but they always had the best matches and were the most fun to watch I found. As a wrestler, Aspen Faith and Sammii Jayne would have to be up there. Two amazing talents that have put a lot of time and effort into me and have helped me grow so I always take whatever advice I can from them, and when you see how hard they work inside and outside the ring it’s hard not to feel influenced in some way.
Who has been your favourite opponent(s) and do you have a favourite match?
Favourite opponent and match so far, I think I would have to say was myself versus Damian the first time. I learned a lot in that one match. Damian is another talent that is severely underrated in Scottish wrestling and hopefully me and him can have some more matches in the future.
What has been your career highlight(s) so far?
The highlight of my career so far would probably be debuting, knowing that my trainers felt that I was good enough to go out there and have a match, knowing that this wasn’t just a dream anymore but I could make it a reality. That’s the biggest moment I think so far.
Who would be your dream opponent, past or present?
Dream opponent is always going to be Shawn Michaels no question about it.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
5 years time, I don’t know. Not a great answer I know but all I can say is I hope I’m still wrestling but it’s such a fast moving sport that anything can happen day by day so I can’t look 5 years ahead. In the shorter term I’m looking to branch out, and work for other promotions while at he same time connecting with people online and enlarging my online presence.
Where can we find you on social media?
And for gamers that may read I also stream on Twitch at
And finally, why do you do what you do?
I do it because I can 😉✌🏻
Thank you to Nathan for answering our ‘Starter For 10’.
