Preview: WrestleZone ‘Live in Fraserburgh 2019’

94CC6A46-896F-4DA5-858A-8AA17E69D703With all the fallout from Aberdeen Anarchy a few weeks ago, WrestleZone return to the historic Dalrymple Hall in Fraserburgh for looks set to be another action-packed night of entertainment. There’s a clean sweep of new champions crowned at the Beach Leisure Centre, a new era is about to commence for WrestleZone.

Caleb Valhalla vs Scotty Swift

Luckily for Scotty Swift, it appears as if Johnny Lions won’t be in attendance at Fraserburgh, so that’s one less problem for The Red Haired Warrior to worry about. Unluckily for him though, he has to face Caleb Valhalla. Ever since Valhalla arrived in WrestleZone at last year’s Halloween Hijinx as the new bodyguard of Alan Sterling, both myself and Billy have been singing his praises. The guy’s the total package. He made a dominating impression on the Aberdeen Anarchy pre-show, defeating Kaden Garrick, Irving Garrett, and Krieger after destroying Kaden with a swinging side slam. This task however won’t be like that match because a) he only has one opponent to contend with, and b) that man is a WrestleZone veteran. Swift, alongside his best bud Lions, captured the Tag Team Championships inside a steel cage, which means they’re now 100% definitely an official team. Judging by what we’ve seen from Mr Valhalla, the former Undisputed Champion could be joining his partner on the list of people with bad backs. The Norse God could’ve easily sent Kaden through the mat last month if he wanted to. Gutted to be missing this one.

Kaden Garrick vs Crusher Craib

Two of WrestleZone’s resident powerhouses are set to collide head-on as Kaden Garrick faces Crusher Craib in singles action. Every time I write a preview of a Kaden match, it always mentions his recent losing streak. He returned on March 24th 2018 and in that time, he’s scored a total of one victory. That win would come against the greatest wrestler to ever wrestle Lord Michael of Graham (all hail) at last year’s Proving Grounds event. In the following 12 months though, everyone has stepped up to the plate and all have found their way past the former two-time Tag Team Champion. Bradley Evans, Ryan Riley, The Outfit, Jason Reed, you name it. They’ve all pinned Garrick. Someone who had sort of the opposite streak though is Crusher Craib. Since he returned to in-ring competition in September 2017, The Creator of Carnage remained unpinned and unsubmitted. That was until Aberdeen Anarchy a few weeks back though, as his shoulders were pinned to the mat at the hands of Bingo Ballance, which came after the interference of Crusher’s current arch-rival Connor Inglis. This just spells bad news for Kaden – facing Crusher is enough of a task, but he’s got to face an angered Crusher. Guess that losing streak is continuing…

Zach Dynamite vs Mikkey Vago

Zach Dynamite had the match of his lifetime at Aberdeen Anarchy when he battled the incredibly talented PAC. The former two-time (and greatest) Tri-Counties Champion gave it all he had, and actually almost had the match won following two sling blades and a frog splash but when it boiled down, a kick straight to the groin and the Black Arrow ensured Dynamite didn’t head home with the three count. Despite that, Zach showed us all what he’s capable of, which he’ll show once again when he faces Mikkey Vago at the Dalrymple Hall. The Heavy Metal Hooligan is also coming off the back of a loss at the biggest show of the year, failing to earn another crack at the Tag Team Championships. He did however deliver his first ever (I think so at least) moonsault, so there’s that. Will he hit another one on this Foundation of the Future member? Only time will tell.

Bradley Evans vs Chris Archer

Both men were involved in that Tag Team Championships #1 contenders match at Aberdeen Anarchy and now, they square off in singles action as Bradley Evans faces Chris Archer. The Mad Dog has been getting more and more unhinged as of late, wailing a steel chain on his way to the ring. When he actually steps foot inside the squared circle, it’s never a safe environment for whoever’s standing across from him. Chris Archer was one of four men who felt that first-hand a few weeks ago, although that didn’t stop him from busting out a moonsault during the match. The pair, alongside Mikkey Vago, aligned for a brief moment in their Aberdeen Anarchy match, downing Ted O’Keefe with a triple powerbomb. Don’t expect to see any sort of alliance here because, well, it’s a singles match after all and if they came together, there would be no match. Logistics.

Handicap Match
Mr P vs The Outfit (Dino Del Monte & Ted O’Keefe)

Fresh off losing the Tri-Counties Championship to Jason Reed a few weeks ago, Mr P heads to Fraserburgh to face the new #1 contenders to the Tag Team Championships, The Outfit. The proud Scotsman was a fighting champion for the 126 days he held the gold, fending off challenges from the likes of Crusher Craib, Bradley Evans, and former two-time champ Zach Dynamite. With Jason Reed, Andy Wild, and Shawn Johnson all chasing the gold at Aberdeen Anarchy though, his reign was brought to an end at the hands of the man on a mission to Make WrestleZone Great Again. While he recovers from his title loss, two men who are on the roll of their career at the moment are The Outfit. Dino Del Monte and Ted O’Keefe shocked quite a lot of people on April 13th when they became the next in line for an opportunity at the WrestleZone Tag Team Championships, a title match they’ll receive at August’s Battle of the Nations event. They’ve got a lot to prove before August 17th however – several people still don’t believe they’re quite ready for a match of this calibre opposite Scotty Swift and Johnny Lions. If they continue doing what they’ve been doing the past 12 months though, they’ll prove everyone wrong once again.

Triple Threat Match
Alan Sterling vs Ryan Riley vs Blue Thunder

Triple Threat action will see Alan Sterling, Ryan Riley, and Blue Thunder colliding, all three coming off the back of very different Aberdeen Anarchy match results. Sterling scored one of the biggest victories of his career as he pinned Grado at the Beach Leisure Centre to end his unpinned streak at Aberdeen Anarchy events, while Riley and Thunder both failed in Tag Team Championships-related matches. The Inspirational One, alongside Bradley Evans, lost to The Outfit in a #1 contenders match, while The Masked Wonder, alongside William Sterling, failed to capture the titles from The Kings of Catch in a Steel Cage Match. With Anarchy in the rearview mirror, all three will be in the mindset of earning championship matches as we head into the summer months. Alan could very well toss his name in the hat for an Undisputed Championship opportunity with his win over Grado and with Caleb Valhalla by his side, there may be no stopping him. Riley and Thunder on the other hand though, they could do with a few more wins to their name.

VIP Ticket Holders Pre-Show
Cysto vs William Sterling

Cysto is back in action when WrestleZone roll into Fraserburgh because we can’t always have nice things. He faces William Sterling on the pre-show, a man who’ll be livid following his Aberdeen Anarchy loss. The Thunder Buddies member failed to capture the Tag Team Championships alongside Blue Thunder at Anarchy, and part of that loss could be blamed on Sterling exiting the cage within minutes of the bell ringing, leaving Thunder alone for the majority of the match. While the future of those two continuing to team remains to be seen, the multi-time Tag Team Champion has to contend with the frolics of Cysto on Saturday evening. The Tangerine Dream was on a bit of a roll towards the end of 2018, picking up victories over Bradley Evans and Alan Sterling. This will however be his first appearance of the year though, and hopefully his last too.

Tickets are available from, priced at Β£15 for VIP tickets, Β£12 for adults, Β£10 for under 14s, and Β£35 for an online-exclusive family of four ticket.
