For the third year running Discovery Wrestling host the Disco Derby. An over the top rope battle royal that turns into a one fall contest when down to two. The first year was an all male contingent, the second was all women fighting over the Discovery Wrestling Women’s Championship, this year it’s open season as anyone can enter the Disco Derby on March 29th at The Jam House.

Previous Winners:

  • 2018 – Andy Wild
  • 2019 – Session Moth Martina

Names already confirmed:

  • Jason Reed [1]
  • KUMA
  • Aspen Faith
  • Lewis Girvan
  • DCT*

*not official but I think DCT is in as he beat Jason Reed meaning that Reed would have to enter at number one at ‘All About The Raffle’…

So who would I pick to be involved in the Disco Derby match? I’ve tried to steer away from the more obvious picks, or the more regular/established Discovery Wrestling names.

Alexander Darwin MacAllan

The ‘Clyde River Killer’ Alexander Darwin MacAllan appeared at ‘All About The Raffle‘, teaming with Xero (as Killer Xero) to defeated The Sam Barbour Experience in a handicap match. ADM is fresh off a near 500 day reign as Source Wrestling Champion, losing it to Grant McIvor back in November, and has defeated some big names in his career so far including longest reigning Y Division Champion Joe Coffey. He commands a ring, will maul anyone that comes near, if he is entered in this… ADM could be the dark horse to win it.

Anastasia

‘The Beauty from the Borders’, I could very well be wrong but I don’t think Anastasia has appeared in Discovery Wrestling before. She is an amazon, tall, long legs which can be a blessing or a curse in these types of matches, she’s certainly capable of throwing out anyone or any gender. She’s been trained by a former Discovery Wrestling Women’s Champion in Sammii Jayne. She might not wrestle the prettiest but it is pretty damn effective.

Dave Conrad

Yes Dave Conrad has been part of the Discovery Wrestling roster since pretty much the beginning but except his early feud with Damo (Killian Dain) and his impromptu match with Matt Riddle, Conrad hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire in Edinburgh as he continues to find his character. A strong showing in the Disco Derby might just be the catalyst for a good run, who knows, he could win and find himself a title contender.

Rayhne

Another that I don’t think has found her way to Discovery Wrestling just yet, ‘The Granite Bruiser’ is no stranger to tussling with men and women, and has a habit of being on the winning end of most confrontations. Rayhne brings the power, and a temperament that doesn’t suffer fools so she could come in and steamroll anyone in her path and cause a cloud to hang over Discovery Wrestling if she weathers the storm and wins the 2020 Disco Derby.

Alan Sterling

After suggesting Alan for ‘All About The Raffle’ I haven’t stopped thinking how good a fit Alan Sterling would be in Discovery Wrestling. He’s a bit goofy, commits to the silliness but is a dab hand in the ring when required. He could bring his big pal Caleb Valhalla along for moral support (thus ticks the obligatory Caleb Valhalla mention) and his WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship. If Captain Alan is involved he might not last long but the memories that will be forged will certainly be ‘All About Alan’.

Who else do you want to see in the 2020 Disco Derby?
