It’s time for the Fair City Rumble match from the Empire Zone aka The Tulloch Institute in Perth. Destiny awaits the victor along with the Game Changer briefcase.

Fair City Rumble – Patryk Peterski last eliminated Ian Ambrose to win.

As already established it was Ian Ambrose that entered number one, Stan The Slav King walked out to introduce the second entrant, his Cheeki Breeki tag team partner, Patryk Peterski.

It was a scrappy start, the two swinging wildly to try and jostle the other towards the ropes, Spike Tierney took the number three spot and took his sweet time to enter, delivering a top rope eye poke to Ambrose and a dropsault to Peterski to introduce himself.

Lex Loomis removed his stripes to make it four in the ring, soon joined by Sam McMillan who was chucking the strikes out to anyone that moved.

Moonshine strutted out with a bluster of energy to Samoan Drop Ian Ambrose until a forearm from Spike rattled the big lad. Sebastian Asher was next to give DE a numbers advantage, and had a spear for everyone.

The Boogieman danced out, jabbed Asher… was speared and eliminated to mark the first to exit the 2025 Fair City Rumble. Duke completed the DE entrants , and he came with artillery, swinging a chair around while DE left everyone laid out.

Entrant ten, Phantasm, was in no hurry to get in but showed a lot of spirit to connect with a springboard poisonrana to Spike Tierney. Unfortunately Duke and Tierney popped Phantasm up to be speared and eliminated.

The lights went out to reveal Titanium Tom Atlas who made a beeline for his former stablemates. Atlas weathered the DE storm before breaking out of a Super Pina Collider and sending DE out one by one, finishing the run by launching Spike over the ropes to see Tierney land back first on the wooden floor below.

As the match continued, the entries just got bigger, with Fulton King marching out to bully his way into the fold. Tommy Raiden, at number thirteen, screamed his way between the ropes before being joined by a chain wielding Oliver Green.

Alfie Packman tried to separate Green and Raiden but the numbers were too much for him, Charlie Packman evened the score and sent Oliver Green and Tommy Raiden packing. The Packmen were following soon after thanks to Shaun Faegan as we reached past the halfway point of the match.

Lex Loomis was next to go with Tommy Cross joining the bout. Murphy made his FCW debut taking down Faegan, chokeslamming Cross, and forming a brief alliance with Fulton King to squash Tom Atlas in the corner. Valek, at number twenty, targeted Atlas to take him out, with Red Gate starting to clear the deck with Tommy putting out Sam McMillan.

The Lancadores rushed out to throw out Valek and Tommy Cross. Max Inferno had some stumbles, eventually knocking Peterski and Faegan down for a splash to both.

Chris Dior transformed as entrant twenty two, with Ozzy at twenty three running in to revisit an old foe in Fulton King, making him his first target.

It was Ian Ambrose’s turn to have back up with Eddie Devine coming out and used as a joust for Ambrose to ram into the other competitors. Jayden Reilly was in for a minute but was overthrown by Ambrose and Peterski.

Johnny Pressley found himself caught in a trap between Shaun Faegan and Fulton King but he got out with a little shake, rattle, and roll, in time to offer a welcome to Rich Money, who wasn’t forthcoming with making his way between the ropes. Ozzy, and Eddie Devine made their exit in quick succession, with Max Inferno bundling out Murphy.

Thanks to William McLeod, Money was tossed into the ring… and thrown out by Johnny Pressley immediately afterwards. Jay Robin, the penultimate entrant, sending out McLeod, Pressley, and Dior while the crowd awaited number thirty to complete the field.

Euan G Mackie was the final man, the first winner of the Fair City Rumble, and immediately came face to face with his former student in the Neo Paradigm, Jay Robin, who eliminated Mackie then followed thanks to a right hand from Fulton King.

The final four was set, Fulton King, Shaun Faegan, Patryk Peterski, and Ian Ambrose. Ambrose and Peterski sent out King and Faegan in unison to leave the final two to be the first two men to enter the Fair City Rumble.

Ambrose suckered Patryk in with a handshake to deliver a low blow, and retrieved a chair from under the ring to smash over the back of Peterski. Patryk goaded for more, ducked the swing to spinebuster Ian Ambrose before grabbing a wobbly legged Ambrose to send him flying over the top rope to become the 2025 Game Changer.

The crowd ate up the win for Big Paddy Cool, who called out commissioner Kevin Williams to make his intentions known that he plans to cash in the title shot at ArdlerMania IV.

There were some rough moments, but overall it was an okay rumble match. It tried some things with a satisfying conclusion, the DE comeuppance was cathartic with Spike’s elimination being memorable. The Lancadores run out to dispatch Red Gate maybe lost some context on viewing due to their match being cut from Empire episodes (for obvious reasons).

It wasn’t a clean match, with some of the newer faces looking overwhelmed and making errors that broke the immersion of wrestling at times, that they would have kicked themselves for, but the important thing is how they react and improve for the next opportunity.

There was a heavy focus on numbers with DE, Red Gate, the future Justified, The Packmen, Red Gate, and The Scumbucks all having the advantage at points in the match.

It seemed fitting that the man that entered between the ropes alone, no back up, no Cheeki Breeki, just the everyman of Fair City Wrestling, outlasting former champions, decorated individuals elsewhere, veterans, and Kings, to become the man holding the chance to become thee man in Fair City Wrestling, Patryk Peterski.
