On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, ICW Fear & Loathing X, ICW Appetite for Destruction and WrestleZone Battle of the Nations 2015.

After Billy Kirkwood and William Grange hyped up the card, Simon Cassidy introduced Mark Dallas to the ring, accompanied as always by Scott Reid, Sweeney and Chris Toal. Dallas then brought out the commissioner for the night Kevin Nash, with the five of them taking part in a Too Sweet handshake. Audio issues meant you couldn’t really hear what Big Daddy Cool had to say, except for that he wouldn’t have a problem getting involved in the action if anyone stepped out of line. With Nash heading backstage, it was time for the first match of the evening.

7 Man Contenders Ladder Match
Special Guest Commentator – Red Lightning
Bram w/Red Lightning def. Joe Hendry w/Leyton Buzzard, Kid Fite, Aaron Echo, Jody Fleisch, Ravie Davie and DCT w/Coach Trip

A 7 Man Ladder Match to crown a contender to the Undisputed ICW Championship kicked off the action as Bram, Joe Hendry, Kid Fite, Aaron Echo, Jody Fleisch, Ravie Davie and DCT collided in the ring. There was action all over the place in the match with several memorable moments throughout. Jody Fleisch moonsaulted off a ladder in the ring on to the other competitors at ringside, Joe Hendry gave everyone a Freak of Nature with a kip-up following each one, DCT and Ravie Davie teamed up on Bram with a double low blow. The Fite Network’s Krieger and Lou King Sharp got involved at one point to help their mentor Kid Fite set up a table but they were run off by The Purge, with Fite also brawling backstage. With two ladders set up in the ring, Bram and Ravie Davie ascended to the top to reach for the briefcase. Cousin Zander and Martina ran down to stop The King of All Evil from winning, before Martina smashed a beer can over Zander’s head and then helped Bram tip Davie off a ladder and through a table outside the ring. Bram climbed back up and retrieved the briefcase to the delight of Red Lightning on commentary before heading to the back with his apparent new girlfriend Martina.

ICW Tag Team Championships
Iestyn Rees is barred from ringside
Polo Promotions (Jackie Polo & Mark Coffey) def. The Marauders (Mike Bird & Wild Boar) (c) by Pinfall

Up next was a Tag Team Championship bout, pitting The Marauders defending their gold against former champs Polo Promotions. After accompanying the champs to ringside, Iestyn Rees was informed by referee Sean McLaughlin that he would be barred from ringside for the match. As The Alpha Male refused to leave ringside, he was planted with a 3D from Polo Promotions, a move they surely learned from facing Team 3D at last year’s Fear & Loathing. Despite the odds now being even, Bird and Boar managed to keep the action confined to their corner of the ring as the isolated The Power Forward from Jackie Polo. Coffey eventually managed to break free and tagged in Polo who took both Marauders to Scoop Slam City. After Mark Coffey kicked out of Mrs Paterson’s Revenge (making him the first to do so), Jackie Polo locked Mike Bird in a vicious Rings of Saturn but released it just in time for Wild Boar to dive on to his own partner from the top rope. With Boar taken out of the ring, Mike Bird was planted with The Old Man of Hoy to crown Polo Promotions 3-time ICW Tag Team Champions. As they celebrated with their titles, Iestyn Rees returned to ringside and took both of them out with a clothesline before he was interrupted by Kevin Nash. Nash hammered into Rees in the corner with several back elbows before The Marauders headed up the ramp. Nash raised the arms of Polo and Coffey as the fans cheered in joy at the sight of Polo Promotions with gold around their waists once more.

Kenny Williams def. Rey Mysterio by Pinfall

Up next was a battle between The 0141 and The 619 as “The Bollocks” Kenny Williams went one on one with the legendary Rey Mysterio. Mysterio no-showed when his music played, before he finally made an appearance in The Hydro. Both men shook hands before the match before the action got off to a hot start. The pair teased a 619 early on, before Mysterio nailed a beautiful baseball slide splash to the outside. Back in the ring, Kenny took control and attempted a 619 of his own but Mysterio reversed and nailed one of his own. The former WWE star followed with a big frog splash off the top but The Bollocks reversed the cover into a rollup to score the surprise win out of nowhere. The two embraced after the match, with this being the biggest win of Kenny Williams’ career.

Fatal Four Way Deathmatch to crown The King of Insanity
Stevie Boy def. Jimmy Havoc, Chris Renfrew and Mikey Whiplash w/Jokey by Pinfall

The first half main event saw the match I was looking forward to the most, The King of Insanity Deathmatch between Stevie Boy, Jimmy Havoc, Chris Renfrew and Mikey Whiplash, who was brought down the ramp in a coffin. The action was as brutal as you’d imagine with these four men, so I’ll list off some of the more spectacular spots of the match;

All four men getting a staple gun and stapling each other in the chest
Jimmy Havoc using one of his own 8x10s to give the others a paper cut
Mikey Whiplash being driven through a wooden crucifix in the corner covered with carpet grippers and then a barbed wire board in another corner
Jimmy Havoc dishing out Acid Rainmakers for everyone
Chris Renfrew halting the interference of Jokey by dropping her on her head with a vicious T-Virus
Jimmy Havoc being killed after a Glasgow Destroyer from Stevie Boy, a T-Virus from Chris Renfrew on a pile of cinderblocks and a Zombie Maker from Mikey Whiplash off the ring apron and through a table at ringside
Stevie Boy backdropping Chris Renfrew through a barbed wire board and the stage

As we came to the end of the match, Stevie Boy tied Jimmy Havoc’s hands to the ropes before laying Mikey Whiplash on a table in the ring and climbing a ladder. The Necromancer followed him up, leading to The Icon Killer performing a Glasgow Destroyer off the ladder and through the table for the win. As Stevie was helped to the back by Kay Lee Ray and The Kings of Catch, Havoc and Whiplash embraced before heading to the back.

Triple Threat Steel Cage Match for the ICW Women’s Championship
Special Guest Ringside Enforcer – Carmel
Kasey def. Kay Lee Ray (c) and Viper by Escape

As we came back from a short interval, Kay Lee Ray defended her Women’s Championship inside the demonic Steel Cage against former champion Kasey and the first ever champion Viper with ICW Hall of Famer Carmel as Special Guest Ringside Enforcer. As KLR made her entrance, she superkicked Carmel before introducing a steel chair and a table into the fray. After kicking Kasey into the crowd, KLR and Viper brawled into the cage as the champion locked the door, keeping Kasey at ringside. As Kasey tried to get inside the cage, she was stopped by the interference of Jamie Winters. But Carmel was back to her feet and brawled with Winters up the ramp and through the back, allowing The Clown Princess of Carnage to climb the cage and dive onto the other two competitors with a double crossbody. The Kings of Catch stormed the ring to help their Filthy Generation partner in an attempt to keep the title around her waist. As the match progressed, Viper ended up going through a table before KLR was on the verge of escaping as she hung from the wall on the outside. But Kasey managed to wedge the champion’s legs in the cage and instead climbed out herself to become a two-time ICW Women’s Champion.

Triple Threat Elimination Match
Lionheart def. Rob Van Dam and Zack Gibson by Pinfall

The next bout was a Triple Threat Elimination Match as Lionheart, everyone’s favourite scouser (apparently that’s what they’re called) Zack Gibson and WWE and ECW legend Rob Van Dam. Gibson cut a promo on his way to the ring, proving as always why he is the best mic worker in the UK. Gibson was nailed with a superkick right off the bat, but he came back into it with a Ticket to Ride on RVD before locking in a beauty of a Shankly Gates. Lionheart performed some nasty kicks to the heads of both his opponents, before he dropped Gibson with a Rock Bottom followed by a Five Star Frog Splash. The Dugfather tossed RVD from the ring to take the pin for himself to eliminate Liverpool’s No.1. With the match down to two men, RVD connected with Rolling Thunder, an impressive move considering he’s now 46. Lionheart countered RVD’s offence with a brutal looking DDT before flying off the top with his very own frog splash for the win out of nowhere. The pair shook hands after the match before heading through the back.

Order of Elimination;
Lionheart eliminated Zack Gibson by Pinfall
Lionheart eliminated Rob Van Dam by Pinfall

The Wee Man made his way to the ring before the next match having not been seen in months, with his last appearance I believe being at Shug’s Hoose Party 4. Wee Man announced he was looking for some new clients as he took his spot at the commentary table.

The Dirtiest Match in Wrestling History
Special Guest Commentator – The Wee Man
The Kinky Party (Jack Jester & Sha Samuels) def. The Kings of Catch (Aspen Faith & Lewis Girvan) by Pinfall

Seeing The Kings of Catch wrestling inside The Hydro will never be a bad sight. After Faith and Girvan entered, the cameras went backstage where Jester and Samuels were late getting to the stage. Watch this to see. After brawling around ringside, The East-End Butcher came off the top rope with a moonsault before Big Kink did the unthinkable and dove off he ropes in a true once in a lifetime moment. The Kings used their fantastic tag team moves to keep the match in their favour, with The Kinky Party also busting out some duo moves. Girvan was able to connect with his fabulous forward roll neckbreaker with Faith following up with a triangle moonsault but it wasn’t enough to keep The Kinky Party down. After blocking an attempt at The Apter Burner, Jester and Samuels planted Aspen head-first into the mat with a spike Tombstone Piledriver for the three count. They celebrated with some crowd surfing after the match. As you do.

Winner Takes All Match for the ICW World Heavyweight and Zero-G Championships
Special Guest Commentator – Red Lightning
BT Gunn (Zero-G) def. Joe Coffey (World Heavyweight) w/Red Lightning by Submission

After a short video package, it was main event time. Joe Coffey vs BT Gunn. World Heavyweight Champion vs Zero-G Champion. Winner Takes All. With Red Lightning providing commentary, the two absolutely tore into each other with stiff strikes and hard slams. After Gunn accidentally took referee Sean McLaughlin out of the match with a Gunnshot, Rudo tossed a chair to The Iron King but before Coffey could use it, he was interrupted by Kevin Nash. Coffey managed to get the first blow on Big Sexy, but Nash didn’t budge. The distraction was enough for The Oddity to get back to his feet and superkick Coffey. After ducking a swing of the steel chair, Joe knocked BT off his feet with the first of several discus lariats for a near fall as Thomas Kearins stepped in to officiate. After becoming the first person to kick out of The Techno Drome DDT, Coffey took Gunn to the mat with a German suplex before dropping Thomas Kearins with one aswell. With no referees left and Coffey nailing another discus lariat, Red Lightning stepped in and grabbed the lifeless hand of Kearins to start the count but Gunn got his shoulder up before the three. The lights went out and when they came back on, there was an additional two BT Gunn’s in the ring and along with the real one, they delivered a triple superkick to Coffey. A Gunnshot, another Techno Drome and a crossface all followed. Lightning pushed the ropes towards Coffey but was taken out with a double superkick from the two masked Oddities as Gunn floated over to get the crossface fully locked in. Coffey tapped out as BT Gunn was crowned the first ever Undisputed ICW Champion. The locker room emptied as everyone celebrated to end the night.

The show is available to watch right now on ICW On Demand.
